Reyal Urbis takes its Corporate Social Responsibility commitment very seriously, in accordance with international principles that the EU Commission and the UN World Pact have established in this area, in that it promotes countries’ sustainable development whilst respecting their universal basic rights.
The "Green Paper" Promoting a European Framework for Corporate Social Responsibility, Brussels 18th July 2001, establishes that a company is socially responsible when, in the development of its business activities and in its relations with third parties, it is guided by criteria that are not exclusively financial, but also by ethical, social and environmental considerations.
Likewise, Reyal Urbis identifies with the United Nations’ concepts of sustainable development, which establish the need for a balance in corporate decision taking, between business, social and environmental issues.
In line with these principles, Reyal Urbis is permanently active in the areas of:
• Environmental protection.
• Continuous improvement in employee relations.
• Contributing to society’s development.
These principles imply ethical behaviour in its business and dealings with employees, shareholders, customers, suppliers, public administration, media and civil society generally.
Reyal Urbis’ activities in Corporate Social Responsibility are principally centred on two clearly contrasting fields of activity. On the one hand, there are environmental protection activities and, on the other, those in the area of social action properly speaking, divided between operations conducted in Spain and those that take place in the rest of the world. Likewise, the company’s activity in the area of public health is worthy of separate consideration.
